- Put The Strainer Upon The New Drain
Put putty around the drain’s opening and put strainer into that opening. Then tighten the nut using your hand, then use pliers to pull it more. After that, put the tailpiece back on the filter and tighten it once more.
- Connect The Drain
Thirdly, connect the new drain you have bought and make sure to tighten the connection line. If you plan to put a stopper, put it on the filter and put a pivot rod on the tailpiece. After finishing this step, do not forget to change the gasket and add the new trap arms.
How to Change a Kitchen Sink Drain

- Eliminate Old Strainer and Put Putty to Basket Strainer

- Insert The Basket Strainer and Tighten The Nut
Secondly, insert the basket train into the hole to achieve a good seal between the hole and the basket strainer. Then, slide the friction band on the washer to protect against the nut. After that, turn the nut clockwise to fasten it as tight as possible.
- Connect The Brass Tailpiece and Fix It
Thirdly, connect the brass tailpiece to the thread of the basket strainer. Then, install a rubber gasket on the drain pipe. Put back the connector ring and move it to the base of the brass tailpiece.
- Tighten The Connector Ring
Last, tighten the ring with your hand but make sure not to pull it so much so that it will not break the drainpipe.
